I was thinking. There are a lot of celebrities out there with drug and alcohol problems…I know your thinking “no shit taylor”, but just stay with me. All these celebrities out there boozing up or shooting up every night, and the rest of the world knows it, yet they deny it. Or maybe they admit it, but thats all they do and it’s a sore subject. I mean, ya it sucks and if I had a problem like that I probably wouldn’t want to talk about it every chance I could either, but there are those few celebrities out there that accept they had a problem, did their time and now are better for it. They embrace what they went through and even joke about the whole situation. There is one celebrity that comes to mind when I think about these type of people. That person is Robert Downey Jr. See, up until recently, maybe 4 years now, I haven’t been a big fan of him. Not that I thought he was a bad actor or anything, but I didn’t know much about the guy. All I knew what that he was an actor and I knew some of the movies he was in and I though he was a pretty good actor, and I knew he had a major drug problem and repeatedly got busted for it. So in the back of my head all I could think about was how stupid the guy must have been getting busted and put in jail over and over again, especially with the sweet gig he has acting. Well I certainly don’t think that way anymore. He is now one of my favorite actors. Every time I see him in interviews he cracks me up, and half the time its over him talking about his drug abuse in the past. He has embraced his problem, joked about it, and become a better person because of it. I mean there are very few actors out there who will make a joke about how they would have done this movie or that movie but they couldn’t because they were in the slammer. There are even fewer celebrities out there that wouldn’t have a problem with another celebrity joking about the time they got busted doing blow with a hooker (I don’t know if RDJ actually did that or ben stiller was just making a joke, but it was funny as hell). Anyways I give major kudos to Robert Downey Jr. The guy is hilarious and a great actor, and not that I’ve met him personally, but he seems to be a great guy as well. So if your feeling up for a great Robert Downey Jr. movie now after reading this superb entry, I would check out KISS KISS BANG BANG if your into an comedy/mystery/action type movie or CHAPLIN (which is a classic) which is a biographical movie where he plays the infamous Charlie Chaplin and does an excellent job playing that role. It’s also very funny and interesting. That is all, ENJOY!
