long overdue
Ok…i’m back…for now that is. I know it’s been a while, but its okay, you can now stop holding your breath. Anyways, I was looking on yahoo.com and there was an article discussing the worst cover songs, and for the most part I agreed with the blogger. For instance, I never want to hear Celine Dion singing AC/DC’s Shook Me All Night Long…that was just plain wrong and horrible! But then I cam across Fred Durst’s name for cover song Behind Blue Eyes, and I LOVE that song, both the original and the new one! The video was kinda weird though…like i never thought i would see Fred Durst and Halle Berry make out…that is just weird. So then i started looking at other Fred Durst/LimpBizkit videos because i used to LOVE LimpBizkit in middle school, and then i realized how different Fred Durst looks now. And then i realized it has been about 8 years since i started listening to them so i guess a lot can change in 8 years, i know i have. Anyways I guess this blog ended up being a tribute to LimpBizkit even though that wasnt my original intention, so here is some videos via youtube! ENJOY!
Break Stuff - this video cracks me up b/c pauly shores camio and he looks like a freakin retard…there are a lot of other camios too like eminem, snoop dog, seth green, dr dre and some others….
Rollin- i love driving with this song on…for obvious reasons..
Behind Blue Eyes- Ok so i’m beginning to think the reason why he looks so different to me is due to the lack of facial hair and his red hat….im pretty sure thats why…so if your wondering why the fuck halle barry is in the video (because i was) its because it corresponds with the movie Gothika..
Death at a Funeral
Ok so this isnt exactly much of a entry, but who cares. So I just watched the movie Death at a Funeral and it was pretty funny. If you like british humor you will probably like this movie. Its about all these awkward situations that go on at a funeral…anyways here is the trailer so you can check it out. Hopefully i will post something more worthwhile soon. later.
oh and its 08-08-08 (aug 8, 2008)…i just noticed that…how freaky is that! ok nevermind…
It is sunday morning…early morning, nearly 4 am to be exact, and I can’t sleep. So what do I do when I can’t sleep? I search on youtube of course. So I will post my latest finds on youtube….some have been my favorites for a while…
Ok so this first video is matchbox twenty performing HOW FAR WE’VE COME, but its the acoustic version and I absolutely LOVE IT!
So I like acoustic versions of a ton of songs…he is the acoustic version of THE KILL by 30 Seconds to Mars…i found another version on youtube that had like violins and a cello with it and it sounded really cool but jared didnt sing it that well and i would much rather him singing the song so i chose this version…I LOVE JARED LETO!
Ok well he is Jared Leto performing THE MODERN MYTH with the violins and such and it sounds pretty good…i like this song, its normally performed in the acoustic though
ok so i guess this blog has turned into Jared Leto singing because i keep finding acoustic versions of all the 30 seconds to mars songs i like…this is THE STORY
ok well i should probably go to bed now, or at least try. i was going to end my videos with another jared leto video but it bugs me when i search jared leto on youtube all that comes up are a ton of fan made videos titled JARED LETOS SEXINESS to the song IM TO SEXY FOR MY SHIRT or whatever…i mean, yes, jared leto is sexy, but i don’t need a photo montage to tell me so…i swear there are so many of those retarded videos out there, and to be honest i dont feel like searching through that crap at the moment…so maybe another time. later
smithville, tx
On Saturday I went on a mini road trip with my mom and two aunts to Smithville to do some antique shopping. Smithville is a small texas town about an hour and a half away from Houston and on the way to San Antonio. If you’ve ever seen the movie Hope Floats with Sandra Bullock and Harry Connick Jr. then you have seen this small town, because it is where they movie is filmed and takes place. This town is a very small and friendly town. All the people that live there say it is the best place to live and the friendliest town and they are so proud of the fact that two movies were filmed there..Hope Floats and a new movie called Tree of Life that stars Sean Penn and Brad Pitt. This town also boasts how safe the place is. Apparently, the town is so safe nobody has locks on their doors. Multiple people told us this as if it was their town moto. I find it funny how they openly admit to outsiders they don’t lock their doors…people in your town might not steal from you, but I’m sure there might be some outsiders who would almost find it welcoming to walk in an unlocked house and take advantage of the situation. Not that I would….I’m just just saying maybe you might not want to make that public information. We also saw a motorcycle with its keys in the ignition and left along…honestly, thats just inviting someone to take your ride. Anyways, after we did a little shopping, we went to see the house that was in the movie Hope Floats and it was so cute. We also saw the photo lab Sandra Bullocks character works at in the movie and we ate in the towns only restaurant where they had some of the memorabilia from the movie such as the SNAPPY SNAPS photo lab sign. I could not imagine living in a town that small. I mean, it was a cute town and was interesting to visit…but to live there, now that would be tough.

Ok so here is this weeks review. If you haven’t read any of my previous posts then you probably don’t know how excited I was to see The Dark Knight. Well, I finally saw it on opening night at the midnight showing and it was AWESOME. It was so much better then Batman Begins. In my opinion, the Joker is what made the movie. Heath Ledger did a wonderful job portraying the joker. He was very twisted and disgusting yet very entertaining and funny. This movie had a lot more twists and turns that kept you entertained and wanting more, unlike the first one. Christian Bale was also a lot hotter in this movie (in the last movie his hair bothered me to no end). I had very few problems with this movie. My biggest issue was the fact that it felt like it was about to end like 8 times… you know, like how The Lord of the Rings usually does. It was also a little tough to stay awake during it being that it was two and a half hours long and the movie didn’t start till midnight, but that really had nothing to do with the movie. At least I wasn’t upset about Heath being dead like I though I would. I thought once I saw him on screen I would feel bad about his whole situation and not be able to enjoy the movie, but that wasn’t the case. So, If your wanting to see a great movie this weekend, I highly recommend The Dark Knight. It has a great plot, action, great special effects, great actors, great everything and Christian Bale HOTTNESS! Enjoy!

Bookstore browsers
This Friday’s secret for the challenge is that when I go to bookstores I judge people based on what section they are looking through. See I go to the bookstore a lot, if I’m bored and don’t know what to do or just feel the need to go somewhere, I usually go to Barnes and Noble or Hastings or Books A Million…I just like bookstores. So I have process when I go to a bookstore. First, I browse through the new books, then I go look through the fiction section, then I usually go to the history and biography sections because they are next to each other, then I look through the art section, and on my way out of the store I look through the bargain section. Now all of these sections are in different places in the store, so I am walking around the entire store. While I’m going through these sections I glance at other people and look at what they are browsing through…like the fantasy and Anime/Manga section are by the fiction section, so when I go to the fiction section I check out the people in those other two sections and I’m my head I’m thinking “man look at those nerds”, and to be honest they do look pretty nerdy. Then I might decide to go to the art section, now while most the people in the art section are looking at normal art books on technique or looking up artists or whatever, there is always that one person who you can tell never goes to the art section…last time I was in the art section a boy who was probably like 13 was looking in a nude photography book, and I highly doubt he was admiring the artistic nature of the photos…my theory was proven correct when he saw me giving him a questionable look and he got really nervous and put the book back as fast as he could and walked away. When I go to the history and biography section I am right next to the christian section, a section that I usually avoid. I see a person In that section browsing through a book on spreading the word of God and I feel if i get too close I will be the next victim on their “lets save another lost soul” tally sheet just because they see me carrying a fictional book about vampires, because you know if you read a book on vampires you must not be a child of God (notice the sarcasm?). Or better yet maybe some way or another they find out I’m Catholic and think I’m a heathen and need to be converted to christianity because they are too dense to know a Catholic is a Christian…no wait that doesn’t happen at the bookstore, that happens at Baylor, my bad. Anyways, I guess my judging people in the bookstore kind of goes along with the whole “you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover” thing. Or maybe its like the “you are what you eat” only it is “you are what you read”…maybe not. For now I will just continue my people watching in Barnes and Noble and stick with my assumptions of what kind of person you are…it keeps me entertained. You should try it.
